Note: The designs below are listed as the most common one's found during our research.  There was a lot of variability from assembly plant to assembly plant and over the years so if you don't see your exact design, you can pick the one below that's the most similar.  The data that drives all tags is the same and is not dependent on the tag layout itself.

Build date top left.  Non-Fremont, Ca assembly plant tag, ACC* prefixes in two lines.
Model Years 1964-1967
Build date is at the top left.  Tag design often associated with Cadillac, one ACC* line without prefixes.

Tag design mostly used in Fremont, Ca (BF, Z) assembly plant.

Similar to Style 1 tag.  Prefixed ACC* codes in a single line.  BODY and PAINT stamps are before codes.

Tag transition year**.  Date code split with a dash between month and year.

Final tag design year.  Most if not all assembly plants went to this design.

* ACC Prefix will only be 2 - 5, 1 was never used as an ACC prefix
**Transition year - From 1964 to 1968 there were many different tag design layouts used.  Around 1969 GM went to a more standardized design that was used from that point to 1972 and beyond.
